Today, I called a customer to follow-up with him after he made an online purchase. Let’s call him Peter, because the reason that I’m sharing this isn’t to humiliate, it’s to educate.
Peter and I were having an awesome conversation. He told me about his business and his goal of generating over a million dollars in revenue in his business this year. I explained to him that goal was definitely achievable with John Di Lemme’s coaching. I further explained that I’m confident in that statement, because the success of our current clients back it up.
I absolutely love sharing our client reviews and stories, because they are REAL people with REAL results that are having record-breaking success in their lives and businesses. Peter was able to connect to many of our clients’ stories especially Mark Smith, a Construction Company Owner in South Florida, since he’s in the same type of industry.
He understood Mark’s “former” frustration of having no business and not understanding how to effectively market his business or generate qualified leads. I say “former” because Mark no longer has these issues as one of John’s coaching students.
Our conversation led to discussing Peter’s next step on his success journey if he truly wanted to achieve his goals. I told him that I believed that the best option for him was to attend a LIVE event especially since he’s local in South Florida, where most our events are hosted. Due to his previous purchase in John’s products, I instantly took $500 off a ticket to the event, which made Peter’s investment for the all-inclusive event ticket only $997. Then he asked the question…
Does John have any “free” events? My question back to him was…
Are your products and services free? He said “no.” My reply, “Neither are John’s.” Peter said that he simply didn’t have the $997 to invest right now.
Here’s what I said to him next…
If I told you that I would give you my SUV or maybe my house for $997, how quickly would you come up with that money? He said, “Pretty quickly!” My response…
Then you do have access to the $997, but you would rather waste it on material things that will in no way assist you with achieving your goals rather than invest it in an event with John that will guarantee to move you closer to the achievement of your goals.
Peter said, “I have to think about it.”
We all know how this story ends if he has to “think about it.” Unfortunately, we hear this same excuse of not having money over and over and over again from business owners and entrepreneurs. Please don’t assume that I’m minimizing the impact of a struggling business on someone’s financials, but if most people REALLY want something, then they make it happen. Just like Peter said he would if I offered him my car or house for $997.
When it comes to success, you get what you put into it. If you are always looking for something FREE or cheap, then guess what…that’s most likely going to reflect your current level of success.
One reason that our clients are so successful in their lives and businesses is because they understand the value of investing in themselves – time and resources. 99% of them had to make it happen financially and get creative, and we helped them with that. They didn’t just write a check to attend an event or invest in coaching with John when they first got started. It comes down to very little to do with their bank balance, and everything to do with their mindset.
Don’t believe me? Ask them yourself. We have an open door policy with our clients so you can speak to all of them, and they will tell you about how they had to go ALL IN and commit to their goals or they would have never achieved them.

What is your mindset about investing in yourself?
I can tell you that if you don’t have skin in the game, then you will never be fully committed to achieving your goals. Here’s a great example…
A few years back, I joined a local gym that was only $12 per month. To no surprise, I hardly ever went and my results were nonexistent. About a year later, I joined a local sports club that offers small, intense group classes with a trainer for $129 per month. I go at least three times per week and love it plus my results are astounding.
I simply didn’t value the gym for the $12 per month and didn’t care if I didn’t go, because it’s ONLY $12 per month. However, when I’m investing $129, I’m there! 🙂 It’s less about the monthly fee, and more about the structured classes and the personal trainers that push and encourage me to reach my goals. I’m invested plus I’m not doing it alone.
It’s the exact same thing with business. We place no value on things that we get free or pay very little for plus your success journey is not meant to be traveled alone. I can tell you from personal and professional experience that in order to build a successful business, you must be ALL IN and take steps of faith that no one (even you sometimes) will understand.
